To realize the complex software which is needed for the Planet Earth Simulator Project one needs some theoretical background routed in philosophy,  cognitive sciences as well as computational sciences. 

There are two main areas which have to be clarified to enable the complex software of the Planet Earth Simulator Project: 

• The general theoretical framework(s) for the interface, the language, and the computational processes

• the 'art' of modeling dynamic and complex contents with the aid of the Planet Earth Simulator software.
